Commercial puzzle manufacturing uses offset lithography to print the image onto paper, which is laminated and mounted to chipboard. Steel-rule dies then cut the board into interlocking pieces. The process is similar to packaging manufacturing, and the quality depends heavily on press calibration, board weight, lamination adhesion, and die precision. The more you order, the lower your per-unit cost, which is the nature of offset printing. Every puzzle we produce is printed and manufactured in the United States. Our offset printing facility is at 929 W 16th Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46202. The full production process, from offset printing and lamination to die-cutting, assembly, and packaging, is completed domestically. Yes. We produce press proofs and can run a small sample set so you can evaluate piece fit, color accuracy, board weight, and packaging before committing to a full production run. Ask your rep about sampling when you request a quote.

Gloss gives you high shine and vivid color pop, standard for most retail puzzles. Matte is flat and non-reflective, which works well for photography or fine art images. Soft-touch has a velvety feel that premium and boutique brands prefer. Linen adds a subtle woven texture that hides fingerprints and gives a tactile quality without the shine. Each finish affects how the puzzle feels in hand, not just how it looks.

We prefer print-ready PDF, Adobe Illustrator (.ai), or TIFF at 300 dpi minimum at final output size, in CMYK color mode. If your file is not print-ready, send it anyway. Our prepress team reviews every file and will tell you exactly what needs to change, at no charge.

We offer rigid 2-piece boxes (retail standard), tuck-end boxes, and polybags with header cards. Box printing is full color on all panels, including the top, bottom, and sides. Add-ons include shrink wrap, poster inserts, tamper seals, UPC/barcodes, and shrink-bundled retail packs. If you need branded packaging that matches your existing product line, we can match colors and finishes.
