Printing Partners is a privately held, family-owned commercial printing company headquartered in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Our History
In 1989, Michael O’Brien purchased a downtown Indianapolis print shop from retiring owners John and Susie Colombe.
The Colombes had built a thriving business with four locations and a strong culture of treating employees like family — a tradition the O’Brien family was determined to preserve.
Soon after the purchase, Michael invited his brother Joel O’Brien to join as a partner. Joel left a successful career in agricultural lending to help lead the new venture. Together, the brothers built the foundation for what would become Printing Partners, blending professional growth with personal care for both employees and customers.
Their shared philosophy — valuing people, craftsmanship, and community — guided the company’s growth into one of the Midwest’s most respected commercial printing operations.
Michael passed away in 2020, but his legacy lives on through Joel and his family, who continue to run the business with the same dedication to integrity and service.

Funding
Printing Partners’ operations are funded entirely through our commercial printing, mailing, and fulfillment services.
We are fully independent and do not rely on outside investors, government funding, or advertising revenue.
All website content, guides, and educational materials are created internally as part of our commitment to transparency and customer education.
