Professional solutions in proofing
Proofing is a critical bridge between prepress and production.
It allows us to provide you tangible proof of what results we can expect
to achieve on the press from your digital file.
- Jobs entering our workflow are refined by checking all
the details of the file, including resolution, color and traps.
- Next the individual pages are "imposed" or
positioned precisely as they will print on the press sheet.
- After the file is imposed, a soft imposed proof is created,
which is viewed on the monitor for accuracy.
- A hard imposed proof is also made. We have three options
for contract proofs:
Imposition Proof
The imposition proof is a double-sided imposed proof.
Maximum image area: 22" or 42" x 100ft. (roll)
Resolution: 720 x 720 dpi
Additional features:
The imposition proof produces a double-sided digital proof after page impositioning.
Although the imposition proof is not intended as a proof for final color,
it produces an accurate physical representation, along with basic color
proofing for a job. At 720 dpi, it prints a 4-color, double-sided, 8-page
signature.
Matchprint Proof
The matchprint proof is an inkjet contract proofing solution that is color-accurate, consistent and fast.
Maximum image area: 22" or 42" x 100ft. (roll)
Resolution: 1440 x 720 dpi
Additional features:
The matchprint proof produces color-accurate contract proofs using proprietary
color transformation technology that allows us to manage shadow details
and flesh tones with ease. The color fidelity module provides true 4-color
transformation of the CMYK data and accurate Pantone© spot color. Eight ink colors create accurate color and precise flesh tones.
The matchprint is a single-sided proof of exceptional
quality. It is used to proof color in conjunction with the imposition proof,
which is used to proof page impositioning. In the vast majority of jobs,
these are the only proofs you will need.
Trendsetter
The Trendsetter® 400 Quantum is a 4-page thermal platesetter that
is considered the most proven computer-to-plate (CTP) machine on the market.
SQUAREspot thermal imaging used in the Trendsetter
is unlike any other imaging technology, providing unmatched benefits in
press production. SQUAREspot imaging helps you maintain end-to-end data
integrity — from the original file through to the press — despite variations
that may occur in a typical production environment. Presswork troubles
caused by the variable dot gain of different halftone line rulings and
dot shapes can be eliminated because SQUAREspot thermal imaging images
precisely, consistently and predictably.
Archiving
Upon completion, the imposed file is archived for future use if you want to order the same item without changes. We simply access the file,
make new plates and the job is ready to print.
