Additional features:
Ideal for both 1- and 2-color printing, the Quickmaster's large ink
rollers produce excellent solids. The design of the press facilitates
set-up and increases speed. Even though it utilizes a common blanket,
proper trapping on multiple-color jobs prevents ink contamination.
Varnish
In the past, varnish has been used to add a layer of protection to a printed
piece when applied as a flood coat, or to create special effects when
applied as spot varnish. Today when the desired result is a layer of protection,
it is more economical to use an aqueous coating.
When the desired effect is to highlight a specific area
of the sheet, we use a spot varnish with either a gloss or dull finish.
We recommend a dry trap varnish, which means the varnish is applied in
a separate pass through the press after the ink has dried. A dry trap
creates more contrast between the ink and the varnish and heightens the
three-dimensional effect.
